Thnks Fr Th Mmrs: Fall Out Boy Honda Civic Tour

Emma and I went to the sprawling metropolis of Tijuana…I mean West Valley City…to see the Fall Out Boy concert. Emma was really pumped because Fall Out Boy is her favorite band. She was a patient girl and waited through three opening acts - Cobra Starship, some no-name rap duo (that reeked, by the way), The Academy Is (who rocked) and +44. Okay, so that’s four, but the rappers don’t count. There are some pics below and some links to some of the tunes of the night. Good times and a lot of fun! I love you Emma! Thanks for going…I mean…thnks fr th mmrs. :)

A Hint of What’s to Come

Little Boys are Treasures
Author: Unknown

Little boys are treasures
Who are worth their weight in gold.
And charm everyone around them
From the time they’re minutes old.

They’re Mommy’s little darling,
They’re a special pal to Dad,
And they bring the very happiest days
A family’s ever had.

More Colorado

Just wanted to give Pa and all our two bits. The very last poem that Uncle Barry gave was my favorite. It talked about a Ship sailing off toward the horizon and though “I” could no longer see the ship, it continued on its journey, the same hole ship that it was before. I love Barry and will have to email Pa about some of our conversations. The funeral was amazing and how could it have not been; given the fact it was about an amazing Lady. Trip to Colorado

Well, we are finally back from Colorado.  It was long and emotional, but well worth it.  All the girls drove out with Mother in Kathy’s mini-van.  We had a great time together and visited a lot.  We got to Grandpa’s house at about 5:30 pm.  Grandpa is doing OK and it was great to be able to spend time with him.  Aunt Elaine is completely worn out and needs a break.  The next day we dragged Grandpa all around getting things done for the funeral.  He was not too thrilled with planning the funeral OR being dragged around everywhere, but we buttered him up with a Snickers.  The funeral was on Saturday and it was really nice.  ALL the Grandkids sang “I Am a Child of God” for the opening song.  Grandpa said we looked like a bunch of old people up there….thanks a lot Grandpa!!!!  It was neat to have all the Grandkids up there singing together.  Aunt Susan, Mother, Aunt Elaine, Uncle Larry, and Barry Schideler all spoke and Uncle Sam sang 3 songs that were beautiful.  The casket was a plain and wooden….it reminded me a lot of Aunt Jeannie’s.  Then after the family luncheon, the girls all drove home with JJ in tow.  Check out the photo’s on Flickr.

Tribute

A tribute to my Grandma, Clarice Jane Raley Robinson.  I will truly miss this wonderful lady.  She was a true example of faith, not “crying over spilt milk”, kindness, and acceptance.  She loved everyone, even when disappointed by them.  She would help anyone she could.  She let us kids be kids and tried to help us love the outdoors, us our imaginations, and love our heritage.  She always told us stories of our ancestors.  Almost nothing was off limits in her house.  She even let us dress-up in the old prom dresses.  She had unwavering faith and an unconquerable spirit.  I will treasure every memory of her.  Even my last, of her not knowing me, but thinking I was my mother, who she loved so much.  I’m glad she can be at peace.  She was scared to not be in control of her body.  What a great lady and example to us all.

Robot Chicken Star Wars: UPDATED

Well, I forgot to DVR this last night, but thanks to YouTube, we can see at least nine minutes. I’m sure the whole thing will be on there shortly. Click here to laugh your behind off.

OK, so the link above is broken, but you can go to the Robot Chicken Star Wars website and watch all the clips. The one of Jar Jar bugging Darth Vader and the Walrus Man are probably my favorite, but they are all funny.

Movie Quote Quiz

“Insanity runs in my family. It practically gallops.”

“A father is a fellow who has replaced the currency in his wallet with the snapshots of his kids.”

Happy Father’s Day! Thanks for all you do!

Another Sunny Day at the Pool

It was in the low 90s and breezy today. Good times at the LAC!
