No Turning Back Now

Well, mark Saturday, September 15th on your calender folks, because it will assuredly be one of the hardest days of my life. I registered for the Top of Utah Marathon and will attempt to complete 26.2 miles in under three hours and 40 minutes. The course starts at Hardware Ranch in Blacksmith Fork Canyon and finishes at Merlin Olsen Park in Logan. Here is a course map if you’re interested in seeing the route.

Movie Quote Quiz

I’m going to post a movie quote every week. The first person to comment with the movie name, character and the actor that played the character wins. Prizes will be given at the family gatherings! Can’t you just smell the excitement!

“From the moment I met you, all those years ago, not a day has gone by when I haven’t thought of you. And now that I’m with you again… I’m in agony. The closer I get to you, the worse it gets. The thought of not being with you…I can’t breathe. I’m haunted by the kiss that you should never have given me.”

Faith Finsand was outstanding in her performance on stage at her recent dance recital. She looked very lovely in her pink costume with such a smily beautiful face. Thanks to her mom for sharing some pictures with her grandparents in Laos and here is one for all of you. If you want to see more Andy posted some on Flicker http://www.flickr.com/photos/73333305@N00/sets/72157600274588715/

Star Wars: Robot Chicken

This post is really for Boyd and Amy, who die laughing at this clip of Darth Vader calling the Emperor collect after the Death Star blows up. The guys behind this, i.e. Robot Chicken (on Cartoon Network), teamed up with George Lucas and they have a full length show devoted to Star Wars on June 16. BTW, these clips are PG-13.

S’More Canyon Fun, Please!

We went up Logan Canyon this afternoon, roasted wieners and made s’mores. We also hiked the nature trail. The campgrounds were busy, but it was fun to get out of the house. I hope all of you are enjoying your weekends. If any of you (read: Boyd, Rod, Amy, Kathy) that were at the graves have pictures, please send them my way or post them on the blog or to Flickr. Thanks!

Go Jazz!

I loved the flicker pictures Andy. Thank you so very much. All of you look good enough to hug! The best looking people there and the BEST BAR NONE! Yeah Jazz! Keep it going!

The Graves & The Park

Just a sample below of what’s waiting for you at FLICKR.

Needless to say, it was a busy and fun Saturday. We went to the graves, to the park for a picnic and then home for my mom’s retirement roast. Tomorrow we’re going up the canyon and Monday I’m going to the Jazz game (they won by 26 tonight!).

Thanks again to Kathy for being such a gracious host. Thanks to Nat for the gym pass. As I0 said, I’m totally depressed now to go back to the Ghetto Sports Academy of Hairy Floors and OGB. I think I might move to SLC just for the gym. Thanks to everyone else for showing up and being such great people. All of you are awesome.

Yoda Underoos

I wore this exact shirt when I was 6 or 7 years old. And when I say this exact shirt, I mean, literally, this exact shirt.

CONGRADULATIONS TO ALEX AND SHAYANN

shay-emma-alex.jpg

You are awesome. Shay for getting top girl in the class with a certificate signed by Pres Bush. And Alex for getting school Secretary. See how smart my grand kids are. They are so talented and beautiful and good. We are very proud of all of them but salute these 2 today for being such good students.

Grandma Connie is Retiring

This is my mom’s last year of teaching at LHS. She will officially be retired when school lets out next week. We had a chance to attend a special retirement ceremony last night. It was crazy to see teachers that influenced me when I was 13 or 14 and now I’m 32 (almost 33). In fact, one of my teachers, Mrs. Kinzer, still had an Underoos Yoda t-shirt that I brought to Spanish class in 7th grade. She saved it and gave it to my mom. That shirt is 25 years old!

Anyhow, a few pictures of Emma, Sam, my mom and me.
