Pi Mai Lao means Lao New Year (April 15th). The celebration goes on for three days (April 14th, 15th and 16th). Traditionally they go to the wat and wash off the Buddha. This led to blessing people by pooring water on them. This led to the tradition of soaking everybody at every party. You can click on Pi Mai Lao to see some photos of the festivities.
Now Andy do not write a long posting just above this one - at least not for a week!
Those pictures were so fun. I wish that I could have been there. In fact, from what I have seen so far that is the time that I would like the most to visit Lao. Mary and Kris chose a good time to go. I love you guys!
Thanks so much for doing a blog on the FHE Andy! I tell you kids not to listen to pa all the time but listen to ME.
Thanks Pa. It’s fun to see those pictures with the explanation. Mother looks like she is actually having fun! GJ
