The Good Fairy Visits Cache Valley

I returned home Saturday afternoon to find these gifts left at her door; rice, beans and a book about the Ten Virgins. Who could have delivered these gifts undetected? Santa? No. Easter Bunny? No. FedEx? No. It was Aunt Elaine! After talking to us at the condo about the importance of food storage, Aunt Elaine decided to give us slackers a good head start! Thanks for looking out for us Aunt Elaine and thanks for being our “Good Fairy.” xoxoxo

Santa in Lao

Mrs. Clause and Santa arrive at the school with their ’sleigh’ in tow. We are greated warmly by all the children. Then there is a bit of welcoming. Notice all the decorations, handmade by the children. The Santa faces and if you look closely you can see all their little ‘jingerbread’ houses made out of the Lao version of the soda craker. The kids entertained us by playing vareous Christmas songs by watching their teacher who had color coded the musical instrament. At one point all the kids sang us some Christmas songs. Then it was time for presents. Santa handed each one there special present which the parents had helped Santa to obtain. Then Santa gives Margo (our former Thai missionary who translates for us at the Branch - she is a teacher at the school) a big hug while Mrs. Clause stands by. Then it is one more photo op and Santa rushes off to his next assignment.

Temple

In case you didn’t read my comment on the skiing post, I have some news. They are breaking ground on the new South Jordan temple, the one in Daybreak, on Saturday, the 16th. Anyone living west of Bangeter will attend it. They are still working on the Draper one, so I was very supprised they would start this one so soon. We are going to the Stake Center to view it with the kids at 10:00 am. I’m sure they’ll show highlights on the news. Anyway, it will be the fourth in the valley and the 12th in Utah.

Everyone come skiing!!

This saturday we are planning on going skiing. Anyone who can come SHOULD!! We have a few extra two for one passes so if you need one contact me….first come first serve though. Its at snowbird. This should be really fun and the more people that come the better…not to mention its a screaming deal at the 2 for 1 price. Let us know if you can make it so we can all hook up! Thanks!

The PARTY!!

So….the Christmas party at the Cooks is still planned for the 23rd.  We are going to do soup and salad.  The party will start at 4:30 and we will plan on eating at 5:30.  Anyone who wants to come up and play on Friday is more than welcome.  We can do air mattresses down in the basement and the couch downstairs does have a hide a bed.  If any one wants to sleep over we can go sledding sat. morning and just play play play!!!  Amy is going to do the Christmas craft with the grandkids sometime Sat night also.  Don’t forget to bring your homemade gifts and cousin gifts to give.  Also, bring any games you want to play.  And maybe if one of the Cache Valley people could bring Grandma’s Nativity dress up stuff that would be great.  Then we could do the nativity too.  Let me know if you prefer to bring salad or soup…or if I don’t here from you, I’ll call and give ya an assignment.  Thanks everyone…we are excited!!!

Never Fear, Aunt Amy’s Here!

marypoppins.jpg
Kathy had graciously agreed to watch Emma and Sam while Andy and I went to the concert. Unfortunately, Chase got the Chicken Pox. What’s a family to do??? Aunt Amy to the rescue! Good old Aunt Amy takes the kids to Salt Lake City’s clone of El Sol. Sam pukes TWO TIMES! Does this slow down Aunt Amy? No! She takes them to the grocery store only to be picked up on by a freaky guy in the check-out aisle! OK, it had to be the weirdest night of her life yet when we went to pick up the kids there she sat with a smile on her face, the kids in their PJ’s and in bed! Wow…..she’s as good as Mary Poppins! Seriously, thanks Aunt Amy! The Morgan Family had a lot of fun!
PS….Thanks to Aunt Kathy for tracking down a way for us to get replacement concert tickets since air-head Sandy and air-head Andy forgot them! It was an adventurous day for us in SLC!
PPS….click on the picture to see Amy’s beautiful face!
