Saddam Hussein

It was reported yesterday, that the former dictator was hung. The Iraqi’s put him to death for his ordering the deaths of many in the 80’s. I wonder what this act will bring.

I had mixed emotions on that one. I know he was a terrible person and many met their death because of him but I just have a hard time with capital punishment. Anyway, I am glad it is over. I hope Iraq will now move forward.

I say good riddance! Never once did he show any remorse for the horrible, awful things he did to the very people who were trusting him to lead their country. “With great power comes great responsibility.” Hopefully he will realize his critical errors in judgment on the other side of the veil….

I just hope that more American lives don’t have to pay for his attocities. I almost wish he was still rotting in prison.

I agree with Dwight. I don’t see this is as a positive move, but rather a rallying point for more violence in Iraq. He should have been sent into exile or put in prison in the Hague.

I think they should have left him in his “spider hole” where they found him. Under guard, of course. Then he could have suffered. But, that’s a little harsh. We should all be more Christlike and forgiving. However, I did just finish a year of teaching the Old Testament and they did have that eye for an eye, thing. I guess he should be put to death.

I think it all depends on perspective. I’m sure people in foreign countries who don’t prescribe to American values probably think every president who has ever led this country into war is a murderer. But we know from the scriptures that our soldiers won’t be held accountable for things like that, rather, the leaders will.

    So true, Andy. So true.

All I can say is that I am not sad he is gone.

Too bad he didn’t just take care of himself like Hitler. I guess that’s one thing we can be grateful to him for. No politics.
