Gerald Ford

Gerald Ford died yesterday, December 26, 2006, at the age of 93. He was the only President not elected. He was selected as V.P. by Nixon, after Spiro Agnew resigned. Then, as V.P., became President after Nixon resigned. Ford pardoned Nixon after Watergate, not a totally popular decision at the time. Now, however, it is seen at a good decision. It helped heal the nation and focus people on the other troubles at hand. Most people called him a person of integrity. He kept himself accessible to the masses throughout his life and was seen as a down-to-earth man. He will be missed.
