Quote of the Day: Failure

“Many of life’s failures are people who did not realize how close they were to success before they gave up.”

Sat. Aug 26

The day started at 6:30 with pa working out and ma doing hair. We then went to breakfast and then to the 8:00 meeting. It was our orientation for the humanitarian classes and then a meeting where everyone told how there were little miracles that got them to this point. It was a very emotional and spiritual meeting. We then had a rest of 20 min. then lunch and walk to the temple for a session. There were new Spanish elders in our session so it was a long one. We didn’t get out untill 3:00. Then I got in my grubs and we went to the mall to ge the book “Lengthen your Shuffle” by Ed Pinegar. We have been eating and relaxing since we got back. This has been quite the week. I’m looking forward to the next one and then off to the real work. It still seems like a dream at times but what Boyd said is true the Holy Ghost does stay here with the missionaries. It is wonderful to feel that Spirit so strong.

I love you all,

Mother

End of First Week

Today is Friday - tomorrow is suppose to be our p-day but we have a meeting at 8:00 and an assignment to attend the temple. So probably, another busy day.

We enjoyed all the comments - keep them coming. We were asked what Thai restuarant. It was in Orem and was called Thai something. We met one elder from my old USU Ward. We met two Elders learning Laotion - they are going to California. Yes, Brenchley is still leading the Choir and does a good job.

Ma is brain dead and so just passes along her love.

Our district met with a couple that went to Cambodia. They were really interesting and told us some do’s and don’t’s which were fun.

We had a little testimony meeting to end the week. It was great! Next week is welfare training.

Have a great day! As grandfather used to say — “The Lord loves you and so do we!”

follow-up

I sent an email to you all but do not know if it went so I am sending this as a follow-up.

We had a great day today. If you did not receive my email about who talked to us about the Book of Mormon write me back and I will tell you.

We have received one box of cookies. Thank you very much but they feed us so well we are getting fat(ter) and so probably should not get any more.

We have gotten some artwork from some of the grandkids. That was fun - thank you for them. It was a great picture of Emma on the blog. Keep them coming - they are not fatening. We received a great picture of Zoe via an email. Keep that type coming. They are fun.

I do not have a way of sending pictures until we get to Lao but then we will.

Have a great day and let us hear from you!

Love, Ma and Pa

Hi from the MTC!

We arrived right at 10:00 and were the first ones to receive our packet. The second thing they made us do is PAY!. Then we got our name tags and it all became official. Then we had a Sister explain everything in the packet, then one talked about insurance then the next table reviewed our shots then we were sent to the bookstore to pay more for supplies then finally to our LITTLE room. We unpacked and then headed to a good lunch and then to our first meeting. We were in meetings until almost 5:00 then we had a great dinner. The evening was for us but we do have a lot of homework to keep us busy.

Thanks to all of you and your termendous send-off.

Love Ma and Pa
