Thanks to all of you for the great letters. That was a lot of fun. I’m glad that Abigale got to see the horses and that Eliza loves to skate. Maybe she will be a skating Olympian! It mattereth not to me as long as she enjoys it. All the girls and you too Boyd are sweethearts, thank you or cobji as we say in Lao. This week has been filled with forms that we have to fill out when we do projects and it is not as fun but there are always spiritual experiences intertwined into each lesson. The Hoy Ghost does dwell here just like the Lord dwells in the temples. I’v decided that it is because of the need for us all to know the truth before we go out to our missions. Love you all! Mother
The Dwight Cook website cannot post photos that are larger than 1600×1200 pixels, and, quite honestly, there is no reason on this good green Earth that you’d ever need resolution higher on your digital camera. My advice is to change the resolution on your camera to 1600×1200 (or lower) pixel dimension. However, if you want to post older photos or can’t figure it out how to change your camera’s resolution, you can re-size your pictures with a photo editor and then post them. I recommend you download and read how to use Photo Gadget 1.1, it’s free and easy to use. Also, if you need to learn how to post a picture, make sure to read the FAQ.
Also, make sure to select the appropriate category for your post. Categories can be found to the right of the text editor when you’re writing your post (for example: this post is under “Administrative”). And lastly, you don’t really have to sign your name to posts to let people know it’s you. The post slugline says “posted by [name], so make sure you have your name set to something that will let us all know who you are.
As always, if you have questions, please tap yourself in the head with a hammer. Haha! Kidding. Just give me a call.
Our family has had a pretty exciting week. It has been great to have parents/grandparents in the MTC. It brings back a flood of great memories. I definitely remember being worn out at night after all of the long days of language and spiritual training.
Saturday Jenny and I went to a Elder’s Quarom social and the Brother that spoke was great, Brother Richie. He was a great guy and has some fun stories. His mission President was Elder David B. Haight and he gave him three words of advice when he returned from his mission (I realize its a little late for Grandma and Grandpa, but I found these interesting):
1. Get an education.
2. Make a name for yourself…
3. …, so that you can be used (by the Lord).
Brother Richie combined those ideas with those of a successful businessman who said the key to his success was simple:
1. Get up early.
2. Work hard.
3. Find oil. meaning different things to different people, for example for Sandy “oil” might be the opportunity to buy Zions stock, for Humble it might be his new machine…
Anyway, Brother Richie combined those principles and applied them to his life and he was able to be “used” by the Lord through-out his life and at a relatively young age.
Sorry for the lecture but I thought those were principles worthy of passing along. I would also like to point out that when I attended the “Get Motivated” seminar nothing they said there was as powerful as what Brother Richie lectured, accompanied with the spirit on Saturday night.
Well I’ve rambled long enough, but real quick the girls are constantly praying for the missionaries and for Grandma and Grandpa Cook. We all love you and miss you and are so glad that you are serving the Lord, and are able to be “used”. Thanks for the wonderful examples and thanks for sharing your experiences from the mission field, we love to feel the missionary spirit that accompanies each experience.
Love, the Heber Cooks
This is going to be so much fun. I love hearing from everyone. Emma…you are so cute. I swear I have the cutest nieces and nephews ever! Anyway, I just wanted to say this is fun. I love you guys, and thanks Morgan family for doing this. I would say thanks to just Andy, but Sandy deserves some credit for putting up with him…ha ha (I heart Fredo). And, well the family wouldn’t be complete without Sam and Emma…so thank you Morgan Family.

Merry Christmas!
Calm down fans. I know this is the moment you have all been waiting for, a post from the one, the only, Boyd Cook. I hope everyone is doing well. I just mostly wanted to say hi and see if I could figure this thing out. It is actually pretty easy. So, the Fantasy Football Draft Night was a success. We had twelve people show up from all around the State and one from Denver, Colorado flew in for the event. It was a lot of fun. Ryan Lusty is playing this year and it was good to see him. Jer takes it way to serious but that is part of the fun; Amy takes it a little to laxt but it is fun to have her in the league. Anyway, I hope everyone is doing well and that Ma and Pa are loving the MTC. It sounds like they are. Tonya, we tried coming by the other night but you never called us back, hope all is well. Love ya, Boyd
Dear Emma it was great to have an email from you and know that you are enjoying school and not likeing the boys chasing you. But you are so cute I don’t blame them. You should get a letter soon to answer your card you sent me. The MTC is like 12 hours of school and study and I am getting very tired. Remember I love you so much and give Sam a love from grandma too. I like the picture too it is very cute. Love you, Grandma
Hi! Writing is my favorite part of school. I also like recess…except getting chased by boys! They touch me and give me cooties. I DO NOT like it one bit. My best friend in my class is Emmie. My best friend in the whole wide world is Madysen…she is not in my class but she rides the bus with me. Sam attacks me as soon as I get home. I don’t really like it but I still love him and it makes me feel good when he misses me but sometimes I want to just beat him up but sometimes I don’t…..he is my best brother. I love you Grandma and Grandpa. Love Emma

Typed by Sandy as dictated by Emma!
We have been trying to send an email that would go out to everyone. But we cannot. Would you look into that and then instruct us all how to do that? Also, when we click on your name it will not set up for an email. Please check that also.
Thanks!
Pa
Well, I hope this is the correct way to be intouch. I don’t know any other way since I personally don’t have a MTC physical address. Nothing is going on all that great. We just got back from Sun Valley with my crazy family on Sun. It was so wierd to be with a group of people that all they wanted to do is go shopping and watch T.V. I told Boyd that I was bored because we hadn’t played any games (other that with the kids). I have turned into a Cook!!! Anyway we did have fun. Boyd and James went golfing together, never did figure out who won! Then us girls went too. I actually had the best score! I probably forgot about some strokes. We also went ice skating and to an ice show. We might be investing in ice skates for those two girls. We have a free rink by our house! Abi had such a great time. They both were very confident.
Sunday Eliza asked if we could do FHE so we did early! She had a “lesson” which she announced that we would be writing G. & G. Cook a letter and doing a craft for them. That was Boyd job to send, who knows when you’ll get it, maybe by the end of your mission. Just kidding. MOn. night we went to the fitness club that we belong to go to the pool. It was very nice but you could feel autum in the air. Tonight Boyd is throughing a Fantasy Football Draft party at our house. I guess it is a big deal. Last I had heard, one of his friends was flying in from somewhere just to be there in person. Anyway that is what is going on with us. We are all lonely for you. But somehow we will all manage. Love you very much. Natalie

Grandma WINS!! It is Alex. Grandma…you just won the Pop Quiz…What are you going to do next? Grandma says: “I’m going to Disneyland…I mean…I am going oin a mission!”
Have fun with the new braces Alex. Your smile is so SHINY :-)
